Fair gründen - your idea counts

Do you have a sustainable project idea or would you like to found a social start-up in Bremen and a country in the Global South? Do you want to improve living conditions on site, create decent work and contribute to sustainable economic growth with your company? Are you convinced that your project is socially, ecologically and economically promising? Then apply for the crowdfunding campaign "fair gründen" from 16.01.-28.02.2023, launched by Senatskanzlei, the Senator for Economics, Labour and Europe, BAB - The Funding Bank and Starthaus Bremen & Bremerhaven.

Your idea counts - join in!

Here you can present your project and put it into action with the financial support of your crowd. For every euro you raise through crowdfunding, you will receive a 50% bonus in co-funding from us - up to a maximum of 2,000 euros. In addition, further benefits await the successful participants in the co-funding campaign:

• An additional prize of 3,000 euros, awarded by BAB – The Funding Bank, for the project that convinces the panel the most at the pitch event on 31 May
• Professional advice on the planning and implementation of the projects by Starthaus Bremen and Bremerhaven and other mentors
• Media support for publicising the projects - in Bremen and beyond
• Provision of valuable contacts and development of a support network

Campaign Process

Application phase from 16 January until 28 February 2023

The application phase starts on Monday, 16 January 2023, with a kick-off event at Bremen City Hall with State Councillor Dr. Olaf Joachim. During the following period, until 28 February 2023, you apply for participation in the campaign with your idea on the crowdfunding page "fair gründen" on Startnext.

Selection of participants from 1 until 10 March 2023

A panel will select the participating projects from the submitted applications and on 10.03.2023, announce the projects admitted to crowdfunding.

Qualification phase from 11 March until 1 May 2023

If your idea is selected, you now prepare your crowdfunding campaign. Through qualification at the crowdfunding camp on 17-18 March 2023 and one-to-one coaching sessions, you can flesh out your idea and work on your presentation to improve your chances of crowdfunding during the funding phase.

Funding phase from 2 until 31 May 2023

This is the main phase of the crowdfunding campaign. All projects start simultaneously on 2 May 2023. On this date the 30-day funding phasewill be kicked-off, during which the crowd can support your project financially.

Pitch-Event

The grand finale will take place on 31 May 2023. The participants selected by the panel will present their projects/companies and compete for the jury prize worth 3,000 euros offered by BAB – The Funding Bank.
